Bikini Line Waxing - How Long Does It
Last
A bikini waxing exercise is being practiced by many, many women, of all ages, and especially as summer
arrives.
Compared to shaving your bikini area, a bikini wax last longer, from three to
six weeks, as the hair is removed from below the skin.
Up to several decades ago hair removal in general was mainly done by men and this was by shaving facial
hair.
Until the early twenties when skirts began to show more legs, women shaving their legs was relatively unknown
and as for bikini line grooming it just wasn´t practiced very often.
It was only in mid-20th century, when the practice of "bikini line grooming, shaving or waxing" became
popular.
Recently however hair removal has become more of a rule than an oddity as fashion and the idea of beauty has
evolved. It is now quite normal for women to remove hair from exposed areas of the body as this highlights their
"feminine" side and today´s perception is that too much body hair can make them look manly.
The bikini line hair removal is practiced every day by millions of women, both for the sake of beauty and for
hygiene purposes. Having less hair means less risk of bacteria thriving in the genital area. You can also make your
pubic area look cleaner and, for some, more attractive to their sexual partners.
During the summers many women wear more revealing clothes, shorter swimsuits and this can mean greater risk of
having visible hair around the bikini line or any part of the crotch, and, at least for most women this is not
perceived as attractive. There are several ways to remove hair from the bikini line, the most common ones are
shaving and applying wax to remove unsightly hair.
How Is A Bikini Wax Done?
Bikini waxing refers to the use of wax to remove
hair around the groin part of a bikini. The most common method is what is often called a Brazilian wax, although
it can be very painful for women who do bikini waxing for the first time. This technique removes all the hair on
the genitals, buttocks, and the area around the perineum. This complete method of bikini line hair removal is
the most extreme of all, where all hair is removed in the pelvic region.
Waxing is done by applying hot wax on the area and then covering it with strips of cloth. The wax is allowed to
harden, and then the cloth is removed quickly, carrying with it the hair that is pulled from its roots. There may
be some pain after the procedure. There are cases where a local anesthetic is applied before waxing bikini line to
minimize pain.
How Long Does A Bikini Wax Last?
As the hair has been removed from below the skin, by the roots, the hairless period lasts from 3 to 6 weeks.
Precautions For A Bikini Wax
If it's your first time to go for a bikini wax, it would be better to trim your pubic hair down. You may want to
take a mild pain reliever before going for treatment, as this will alleviate some of the pain you may feel from the
waxing.
After removing hair from bikini line, a good amount of powder, made of oatmeal is a good way to soften the skin.
Make sure to go only to reputable bikini wax salons or skin centers that use the best quality of hair wax to
prevent infection.
