Tips For Shaving Pubic Area

Shaving Pubic Hair for Women, How To Shave Your Pubic Hair Tips

How to shave your pubic hair tips for women interested in shaving their pubic area are:

  • Take steps. Unless it is very important for you to surprise your partner, do not go from a full pubic hair situation to being totally exposed .
      • Start by simply trimming the hair a little shorter each week.
      • Once the hair is short in its entirety, start shaving the labia. The outer labia seem to tolerate shaving the mons.
      • About a week later start making the patch of short hair on your pubic mound smaller and smaller by trimming and shaving.
      • If you start to feel irritation, do not remove additional hair until the irritation subsides. This is done by experimenting with different strokes, different shaving creams and gels, different types of razors, different clothing, etc..
      • Give yourself time to get used to the shaved skin, because the razor is likely to peel off foreign tissue and can cut the hair below the skin line resulting in irritation and ingrown hairs.
      • Some women may find they can not shave thier pubic mound, and as a result they just trim the hair to a short length.

  • Pubic shaving takes time. At first wait to spend thirty to sixty minutes each time you groom your pubic region. If you go for a full pubic shave, plan to give yourself a couple of hours. Once you and your body are accustomed to shaving, it only takes a couple minutes to shave the pubic area, if done every day or every other day.
  • Use only new razor blades. Pubic hair is coarse and can dull the blades very quickly. Unless you are into self-torture never use the same blade for leg shaving and pubic hair shaving. If you use an electric razor, make sure your blades are not old.
  • Use a good razor, perhaps one with special blades and tailstock. Some women's razors now have wide handles so you can have more area from which to hold it. You need to try several types of razors before you find one that works well you. Buy a few different disposable ones from your local store and try them all.
  • Start using plenty of shaving foam or gel. Apply a new layer of foam or gel after each pass with the razor. You must make sure you apply some lubrication between your delicate skin and the blade of the razor. Use those intended for sensitive skin. Menthol or eucalyptus may make your skin tingle, but ultimately can help soothe the vulva. (If they start to burn, rinse right away.)
  • Shave your pubic hair in the evening. This is the best time as you can naked or wear just a shirt or after sleep gown, it will leave your pubic area free. Once you get used to shaving you can do in the shower in the morning in a couple of minutes.
  • At first discard tight clothing. Your sensitive skin will not be able to tolerate anything rubbing against it after shaving has removed the outer layer of skin. You should not wear clothes that allow fabric to rub against you. Wear dresses and skirts. Wear loose underclothes (boxers perhaps?). If you can stay without underwear, do so. Elastics panties may irritate your bikini line. Tight jeans are probably a very bad idea. Walking without underwear probably feels quite strange at the beginning, but in times you won´t think about it.
  • Soak in a hot bath or take a hot shower before you shave pubic hair. This softens the hair and makes it easier to remove.
  • After shaving sleep nude or only with a nightgown,. Do not wear pants or shorts. Nothing must rub against your sensitive vulva while sleeping. If you use protective devices, just sleep over a couple of old towels.
  • Do not shave too closely. Do not tighten the skin. Past the blade slightly and then go to the next area. Do not remove all hair and this will decrease the amount of irritation you experience. With each subsequent shaving more hair can be removed. Go slow and be gentle.
  • Pull the skin taut with one hand while you shave with the other. The groove next to your clitoris may be hard to shave so be careful and do it slowly.
  • Shave in the direction of your hair growth, this usually means down on your pubic mound and diagonally near your outer labia. Just look at the growth pattern of hair after you cut your hair short. Some women with more experience shave against the hair growth when they give it a second hand, using a very light touch and a fresh layer of shaving gel or foam. This gives them a very close shave. This may not be a good idea for the beginner.
  • Shave every other day at first, and use light strokes. Women often report that they do not start to itch until their hair starts to grow. Once you practice and your skin gets used, continue to shave every other day or even daily. If you want to shave your vagina, you can not just shave occasionally. The irritation will drive you wild.
  • After shaving, apply lotion to your vulva as this soothes the skin. Be careful of scents or other additives that can irritate your delicate skin. Baby oil may lubricate the skin and can decrease the friction. The same thing goes for baby powder, but powder is bad for the vulva and vagina, so use it sparingly. There is a cream called "Bikini Zone" which is designed to mitigate the irritation caused by shaving, it is somewhat expensive, but it may be worth it for the beginner.
  • Use a mirror and a good light so you can see what you are doing. Unless you are unusually flexible you will not have a full view, so a mirror will reduce the risk of cutting.
  • Some women recommend using a sponge in the days that you do not shave, when you bathe or shower. Gently rub in favor and against the hair growth. This removes dead skin and helps to keep the hair follicles free, reducing the chance of ingrown hairs.

Many women want to know if there are other methods to remove pubic hair besides shaving.

There are, but shaving is the most common method used.

The only effective way to remove pubic hair root is still electrolysis. The current lasers only remove hair temporarily, but with repeated use it will eliminate some or all of the hair. The laser costs at least U $ S 300 just for the bikini line.

Some women use wax as an alternative to remove hair for longer periods of time and leave the skin smoother. The wax is often a cumbersome process, if not painful.

Some women use caustic creams to remove hair, many of these developed have been developed in Europe and Asia.

Some women actually pluck their pubic hair one at a timer. This is said to be less painful than you think, and it gets easier with time.

Some women use chemical depilatory creams but these can burn the delicate tissues of the vulva, so extreme care should be using it.

If someone invents a cheap, hazard free and quick to way to remove pubic hair, I'm sure many women will be queuing up to remove some if not all her pubic hair.

Shaving has other advantages such as the fact that is cheap and fast, also you do not have to make an appointment or go to any "professional hair" salon. You can simply shave in the shower.

The problem is that is the most temporary method about as hair regrows in a very short period of time so you have to repeat the process constantly.

Another thing is that when the hair appears above the skin it itches like mad and if you do not follow a moisturizing and care plan, you will spend the day scratching your intimate area.
