Threading Hair
Removal
Perhaps the best way to remove hair from your face is with a hair removal thread or threading. It has
been used for centuries in India and China (both claim they are the originators) with great success for upper lip
hair removal as well as for eyebrows threading.
Threading is a simple and effective method that has a series
of advantages, not least being that it is a totally natural hair removal method.
Hair Threading Technique
The hair threading removal technique is as natural as can be where the traditional threading hair removal at
home process is now also extended to hair threading salons or hair threading machines.
Hair removal by threading is a completely natural process in which a thread loop, which can be either cotton
or silk, is used giving you the results you want to achieve.
- The thread is paced over the skin and twisted so that the hairs are caught up and
entwined.
- Then the thread is lifted, pulling out the hairs directly from the hair follicle, and
thereby removing it by the root - even the smallest hairs are caught and removed, so it is not
limited to hair removal but actually ends up giving a facial lifting effect.
Hair Removal Threading Alternatives
Thread hair removal has been practiced traditionally by hand and with its rediscovery (after all it has been
used for centuries in the East) threading machines have also been developed.
Manual Threading For Hair Removal.
This is the traditional way for threading and it does require
some skill. Still it remains one of the best methods of hair removal, specially as a facial threader where you can
thread chin hair, upper lip threading and perhaps the most used eyebrow threading, because it removes the hair from
below the skin, without affecting it.
Threading Machines.
Mechanical thread hair removal machines eliminate the problems relating to expertise and skill. It is just a
question of buying the machine and practicing. The best course to follow is to apply it on an area where you can
have more control, for example on arm hair. From there you can graduate into threading the upper lip and once you
are used to the process you can move on to threading your eyebrows.
For both cases it is recommended you apply talcum powder to the area you will thread. After you have finished
threading you can always apply a moisturizer, preferably one with aloe vera.
Facial Hair Threading Advantages.
There are many advantages in threading hair removal that can be summarized as follows:
- You can remove any sized hair, even when it has a small length and this means you do not need to wait for
them to grow and be longer as in waxing and other epilatory hair removal methods.
- It is a technique that does not irritate the skin, and so is a great alternative for people with sensitive
skin.
- It has peeling effect and thereby prevents wrinkles and softens existing ones - mainly in the eye
area.
- It is a less painful than other methods, although this depends on each person, but it is generally
considered to be much less painful.
- It is much more precise than waxing.
- It lasts longer as the re-appearance of hair is delayed much more than with other hair removal
techniques.
- You can thread even if you are under going skin treatments as this technique of hair removal does not
remove a layer of skin.
Disadvantages of Hair Removal With
Thread.
The biggest problem is finding a threading salon and estheticians who know and have mastered the art. Having
said that, you will usually find a local threading salon with out much trouble.
