Pubic Hair Removal
There seems to be a trend for pubic hair removal but if history is anything to go by, this is nothing new.
his trend has also brought around certain styles relating to the amount of pubic hair that is removed or
groomed.
In ancient Greece athletes used to remove all their body hair, including their pubic hair. It was part of the
athletic preparation and the taking care of the body. Just have a quick look at the statues from that era.
It is interesting to note the Greek saying "A healthy mind in a healthy body". Be that as it may, pubic hair
removal has been practiced at different times and in different cultures.
At times reflecting an image of beauty, at others of religious beliefs, or of cleanliness.
Today there is a very wide variety of clothes we wear, due to fashion, taste, weather, place, etc. If at the
beach our clothing is radically different than if we are in a large city, in the middle of winter.
This has meant that much more flesh is shown, than say in the middle of the Victorian Age, where a glimpse of an
ankle would have been shocking and cause a few double takes.
We are rarely shocked by fashion or bare flesh - except when taken to extremes.
Types of Pubic Hair Removal
There are three commonly used styles of pubic hair removal, and the methods used are usually by shaving or
waxing.
And these are:
- Bikini Line: Its name explains it perfectly. It is the removal of pubic hairs that escape from the
bikini. The extent of removal depends on the cut of the bikini. It can be done by shaving or waxing.
- Brazilian: This is the partial pubic hair removal, leaving a strip of hair round the genitals. As
its name indicates it originated round the Brazilian beaches. The full name is actually the Brazilian Wax, as
it is a waxing method.
- Hollywood: This is a full genital hair removal, again done by waxing. It is often confused with the
Brazilian wax and many times the names are interchanged.
